I'm the daughter of a gardener and a librarian. Formally trained as an architect, I've had an affinity for paper and handwritten notes since I was small. Though one would assume by my name that my parents were hippies (which they were) I actually married into such goodness when Josh asked me to be his wife. At the core of good architecture is a love for creating and dreaming, for collecting stories and telling them through light and steel and wood. I see the design of paper, flowers, and anything really as no different. A lover of texture, pattern, color, and the unexpected, I delight in the telling of your tale through many mediums. I find it hard to not sweat the small stuff, because it's there, in the details where your story can be found. |
About Pitbulls and Posies
|
At the heart, we're a design house that's lost in the details and those magical elements that weave them all together. Many wouldn't name their studio after a power breed, but like us, we see pitbulls as unique and loyal vessels of unconditional love. Things aren't always as they seem, and it's this spirit of re-imagination and reinvention that fuels of our work. Soft as Pitbulls, Hard as Posies - speaks to the place we've dedicated ourselves to create - one where conventions are lost and stories unfold. |

Our Philosophy
We're in love with making things and how it all comes together. Screen-printing on wood from your first home for your house-warming invite? Yes, please! Wrapping your bouquet in your mother's wedding dress? Obsessed! We want every element to scream your name. It's that simple, we are a custom studio so that's the way our mind works. We want you to have it all. Don't be surprised if your project pairs letterpress and laser cutting, digital and screen printing, tapestry and metal. Like our architectural roots, materials and production make us giddy. We're inspired by the small moments, the reasons why, and believe that paper, type, and trim can evoke feeling and set the tone.
Our Style
Our style has been likened to a fantasy flea market - eclectic color, playful type, and different textures that have been carefully collected and gathered together. We aim to create pieces that are effortlessly thoughtful, brightly soft, and always unexpected - like you!
